"Johann Pfeiffer is a fine composer. His music certainly deserves to be better known... The playing is excellent in every quarter, though Xenia Löffler (oboe), Daniel Deuter (violin), and Elisabeth Kaufhold (bassoon), strike me in particular. Kaufhold is a steady and sensitive continuo player. Löffler’s oboe playing in the trio sonata is gorgeous with the violin. The technical demands of the violin concerto place Deuter’s talets on full view."
