Thomas Zehetmair is one of the most significant violinists of his generation. He has enjoyed a successful international career for a considerable time and audiences and critics alike are enthusiastic about him as soloist, chamber musician and, for some years, a conductor as well. This disc now available for downloading couples the magnificent Violin Concerto of Brahms with Schumann's richly romantic Fourth Symphony in the original 1841 version. The playing throughout is superb and the interpretations offer a rewarding fresh view of these two nineteenth-century masterpieces.
