Hailed in The Seattle Times as ‘a landmark in great ensemble singing’, Chanticleer: A Portrait surveys the wide-ranging repertoire for which Chanticleer has become famous: from chant and Renaissance masterpieces to contemporary classical music, popular music, and spirituals. A Portrait draws on material specially selected from the group’s award-winning discography and includes a bonus track not previously released: ‘Christmas Time Is Here’ by Vince Guaraldi, made famous in the TV favourite A Charlie Brown Christmas.





This recording contains a magnificent blend of early 16th-century music by Thomas Tallis and Gabrielli right up to contemprary composers commissioned by Chanticleer in celebration of its 15th anniversary. This collection offers works often featured in concerts at home and abroad, including Chanticleer’s classic interpretation of Shenandoah and a jazzy Blue Skies.
