"This is a jovial set of performances. I have not encountered a recording with Alessandro Baccini since 2008, when he released two with a variety of marvelous oboe works. I recall his sparkling tone and technique, but most of all his mature musicianship. My favorite on this album is mozart’s quartet. It stacks up to the great recordings made of this beloved work. But the Divertimento by Johann Michael Haydn is an especially rewarding discovery, as well as the two-movement quartet by Johann Christian Bach."
