Cornelia Hellwig and Kathrin Görne exhibit exceptional discrimination in the way they animate each item in a programme which provides an excellent framework for Britten’s Nocturnal op. 70 (1963) for guitar solo; Dowland’s song Come, heavy sleep, on which Britten’s work is based, is also performed in its original form. Kathrin Görne interprets the guitar piece superbly. Her phrasing, connection of chords, legato and tonal balance could not be better."
