Jaques-Martin Hotteterre

The suites from the Livres de Piéces pour la Flute-Traversiére by the flautist and instrument maker Hotteterre "le Romain" are among the earliest compositions for the transverse flute. A member of a famous family of instrument-makers, the self-styled "Roman" Hotteterre held the post of chamber musician at the court of the Sun King Louis XIV - "Ordinaire de la Chambre du Roi".

Recorded at the Marienkirche in Osnabrück in July 1998.
