The repertoire for a flute and guitar duo is wonderfully extensive, ranging from arrangements of Elizabethan lute music to Bach, from Italian serenades to modern tangos, and much more. Happily, it also includes new works – music written in the 21st century by talented contemporary composers. This album represents a collection of works written for Two Part Invention by a group of these talented individuals, all of whom we are also honored to call our friends. Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to composers Glenn Caluda, Manley Mallard, and Paul Salerni, as well as to guest vocalists Patricia Koch Budlong, soprano, and Jan Opalach, bass-baritone.
