 Friedhelm Flamme Soloist

This new release in the series featuring organ literature of the Northern German Baroque has Flamme interpreting works by Praetorius performed on the organ in St. Stephen’s Church in Tangermünde.   This is the only instrument by important organ builder Scherer that continues to display its magnificently carved case and about fifty percent of its original pipes, including all the front pipes.  It proves to be the ideal instrument for the authentic performance of organ music from this period.

"... Friedhelm Flamme is an excellent advocate, who is clearly as much at home with this organ as he is with music."  *****

David Ponsford - Choir & Organ magazine - January/February 2013

"...Duly recommended to all devotees of organ music before Buxtehude and Bach."

James A Altena - Fanfare - January/February 2013

"...  the instrument has a glorious  sound ... It may be the ideal vehicle for Hieronymus Praetorius’s music ... The recording quality here is superb - a fine balance of clarity, presence, and space ..."

Williams  J Gatens - American Record Guide - January/February 2013

                    **** - Excellent

Claudio Bolzan - Musica magazine - December 2012-January 2013
