Following their recent ‘A Portrait’ CD (DI 1006) the Ensemble Pyramide has a new release ‘Suites Françaises’. This new release of arrangements from Markus Brönnimann, the flautist of the Zurich based ensemble, contains four works from three French composers whose lives have crossed paths several times. Debussy, Ravel and Pierné are the composers whose pieces together form a multi-faceted overview of French music of the 19th- 20th Century.
With ‘Suites Français’ the Ensemble Pyramide’ proves once again it’s unusual instrumentation and arrangements allows the listeners of these familiar works explore new and unfamiliar facets of these works. Lovers of French Chamber music will be delighted by this new album.
