The Fitzwilliam String Quartet is one of Britain’s foremost chamber ensembles, with a celebrated concert and recording history. This CD offers two late, great Haydn quartets and one very early one, all recorded at a live performance at Royal Holloway, University of London, in 2001; it captures the brilliance, joy, and inspiration of these works perfectly.
