Max Jaffa had a phenomenally successful music career, initially as a dance band leader, then as a post-war light music maestro. He also flew Spitfires and Blenheim bombers! With the Max Jaffa Trio (pianist Jack Byfield and cellist Reginald Kilbey were the other two) he was rarely off the radio or television and also led the Palm Court Orchestra of Grand Hotel.
