"Sometimes it’s good to redefine and refresh the intimate and unique relationship one has with an instrument, this object that’s both sophisticated and primitive, that’s been held in the arms for so long.
During these recording sessions - held often at night, at home, between the kitchen and living room - this violin I nestled on my shoulder or pressed up against my stomach kept telling me it was nothing more than a resonant object that could be tweaked, rubbed, whacked, stroked - but not broken - and vibrated to perhaps say something or at least share with others via the intermediary waves of emotion and meaning. And today, dear friends, these "others" are you. Happy listening." Benjamin de la Fuente
