"...Kuehn’s sensitive phrasing and resonant tone are evident in everyone of these works. In the final concertino by Joseph Jongen, he plays a mixture of soaring melodic lines and technically demanding passages. David Kuehn’s playing shows a commitment to expressive musicality, and his robust tone is certainly one of his greatest attributes. The program leans a little towards the serene and lyrical side, but there are also a number of dramatic climaxes in the works of Vehar, Sommerfeldt, and Jongen."
