His performance deeply probes the interconnections between the great composers Modest Mussorgsky and Maurice Ravel: “Pictures at an Exhibition” and “Miroirs” are both highly expressive works fraught with images which reflect (on) visual impressions and conjure up whole story lines in the listener’s mind, especially when performed with such technical prowess and feeling as can be heard here — we look forward to more!
