Was life at the height of the Baroque age as glorious as we imagine it was today? At least you can dream of wigs, heavy clothing and intimate salons when you hear the oboe playing of Jaime González on his new GENUIN release. He pays homage to the great Albinoni: flowing melodies, virtuoso dance movements, enveloped in the velvet-smooth cello sound of Åsa Åkerberg and the sparkling garlands of the lute by Thomas Boysen, all of which bears witness to Italian mastery which was a beacon throughout Europe in its time.
