Do vibrations continue to tremble over the course of centuries? The Dresden violin virtuoso Johann Georg Pisendel studied in Italy, shortly after 1700, with one of the greatest violinists of his time – with none other than the red-haired priest, Antonio Vivaldi himself. This explains the fact that there is a rich music collection of this period in Saxony, a truly gourmet feast for a violinist like Annette Unger. Together with her Dresden professor colleagues Michael Pfaender and Ludger Rémy on her fourth GENUIN album, she makes these baroque treasures resonate, swing, and sing: an entire flower bouquet of Vivaldi violin sonatas – as if Pisendel himself remembered the country where lemons flourish…

"Urgently recommended."

Robert Maxham - Fanfare - January/February 2013

"... These works are full of color and life. Violinist Annette Unger has found caring and reliable musical oartners in cellist Michael Pfaender and harpsichordist Ludger Remy. Pfaender follows here wherever she goes but also suggests some new directions for phrases. Remy creates clarion calls, drum rolls, and tempests from the keyboard. He contributes greatly to the texture of the group’s sound."

Benjamin Katz - American Record Guide - November/December 2012

"...the dedications make it clear that these [sonatas] were not written for a student...but for a master of the instrument. The technical demands are considerable, but Annette Unger is easily their master. Her continuo colleagues provide support withoutbeing invasive..."
