 Ana-Marija Markovina Soloist

Soulscapes

Soon after the release of the bizarre, poignant and virtuoso keyboard works of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach with Genuin, Ana-Marija Markovina is now featured in yet another recording of works by Robert Schumann. Some of the piano repertoire here is no less curious, seeming to come from some strange world, all the while conveying listeners along dreamy pathways. Ana-Marija Markovina once again performs with dramatic vision of the highest order, putting her pianism on display while doing full justice to the expressive music on this recording. Once again she opens up true vistas of the soul to her listeners.

"Hardness and impersonality are never at the cost of transparency and poetry. An excellent balance – just as one wishes for this composer on the threshold between classicism and romanticism."
