By Special Request – Mantovani

Mantovani is now regarded as having fronted one of the greatest light concert orchestras of the last century. He achieved worldwide fame, and his music remains loved by millions. His LPs sold in vast quantities, and many have now been made available again on compact discs. However, his thousands of loyal fans are aware that many recordings have failed to emerge from the dusty vaults of the recording companies – so far. Guild Music has responded to specific requests from Mantovani’s admirers, and this collection contains the numbers which they have particularly wanted to acquire on CD. It can therefore honestly be stated that this compilation is exactly what the fans have demanded, because the choice is entirely theirs!

"...Mantovani always coaxed a wonderful sound from his orchestras even before the advent of the “cascading strings” and this selection gives an excellent cross-section of the repertoire and style that gave Mantovani an appreciative world-wide audience. Great sound and comprehensive liner notes complement the maestro’s music."
