The distinguished and long-lived composer Czeslaw Marek (1891-1985) is one of the more important composers of the 20th-century, yet it is only since his death that his work has come to be recognised at all internationally. We are extremely proud to present these two albums of his important orchestral music, recorded in London by the great Philharmonia Orchestra under the gifted conductor Gary Brain, who brings brilliance and sensitivity to his task. These outstanding recorded performances make a distinguished addition to Guild’s important series of recordings of Swiss music, every issue of which has garnered exceptional reviews world-wide.
