Hans Huber is one of the most unjustly neglected composers of his generation (1852-1921), although in his native Switzerland he has always been very highly regarded - with good cause, for his contribution to Swiss music was greatly significant, as a composer, pianist, conductor and administrator. He was a prolific composer, and included eleven violin sonatas in his considerable output. We are particularly pleased to be able to present this new recording of three of Huber’s magnificent violin sonatas in brilliant and highly sensitive performances, outstandingly well recorded, which we believe will do much to ensure that this fine composer’s reputation is universally established. This is a really important record.
"... he [Colliard] manages, with Altwegg, to build a powerful case for Huber’s sonatas, which violinists and aficionados of the instrument’s repertoire should eagerly concede. Strongly recommended to them as a most welcome discovery, but to general listeners as well, who should be excited to share in it."

"Swiss performers revel in the high Romanticism of a follower of Brahms and Strauss... The recording is well balanced with an intimate ambience and an attractive bloom to the sound."
Robin Stowell - The Strad - November 2011
