This new recording of music by early 19th-century pianist composers breaks new ground, in that it juxtaposes a familiar Sonata by Beethoven with two important works by his contemporaries - Schnyder von Wartensee and Anton Liste. These are very significant compositions in the history of the piano sonata, and it is with particular pride that we present this addition to the recorded repertoire of the era. The performances are outstanding in their insight and musicianship and the recording quality is very fine. This is a release of which we are particularly proud.
