The best-known string quartets of Franz Schubert on two albums. Included are the passionate and symphonic "Death and the Maiden" and the tuneful "Rosamunde" Quartet as well as Schubert’s monumental final essay in the quartet form, the magnificent G Major Quartet D 887.

The Verdi Quartet is among the few ensembles that have performed and recorded Schubert’s complete string quartets and are among the most eloquent exponents of these expressive and unfailingly melodic works.
