Rachmaninov / Fotopoulos – Costas Fotopoulos (piano)

Costas Fotopoulos is based in London and works internationally as a composer and arranger for film, the stage and the concert hall, and as a concert, silent film and jazz pianist. He is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM).

He has made numerous appearances as a concert pianist, giving concerto performances in Britain and both solo and chamber performances there as well as in Austria, Italy, America, Australia, New Zealand and Nigeria.

This debut solo piano album, featuring works by Rachmaninov as well as his own Toccata, was released in February 2009 and the artist pulls no punches with virtuoso performances of the twentieth century’s master composer, Sergey Rachmaninov. Fotopoulos, displaying stunning technique and a complete understanding of the repertoire, sets a new standard for the performance of it in the twenty-first century.
