ANTON BRUCKNER

Symphony No 6 in A major

1 Majestoso 16:55
2 Adagio: Sehr feierlich 19:49
3 Scherzo: Nicht schnell - Trio: Langsam - Scherzo 10:02
4 Finale: Bewegt, doch nicht zu schnell 15:02

Of all Anton Bruckner’s symphonies, the Sixth is his most original. Its contrasting moods, and overarching theme moving from darkness to light, bring music that can be haunting one moment and ecstatic the next, culminating in one of the most enigmatic symphonic endings of the 19th century.
