The late John Veale and Robert Crawford are among those composers who demonstrate that Britain is producing some magnificent new music in relatively traditional style. These works for recorder, clarinet and string quartet are thoroughly post-modernist, individual and original, yet lyrical and approachable in the pastoral English tradition. This is the first of a series of discs featuring new lyrical British chamber music.
