 Sabine Oehring Soloist

“Royal Winter Music . . . The Berlin guitar player Sabine Oehring is to be heard, as it were, musing with her guitar, demonstrating a very varied touch: from sharp strokes to surprising glissandi and delirious crescendos (referring to ‘Royal Winter Music’). The weightlessness of the stage-like, constantly changing arrangements of sounds show Sabine Oehring and the boris blacher ensemble exquisitely to advantage . . . The idea of the romantic as a fragile memory, in love with beauty, subtly succeeds right until the last note is carried away vibrating on the wind (referring to ‘To An Aolian Harp’) . . . This selection from Henze‘s guitar oeuvre succeeds in creating a brief elegant portrait.
