Violin sonatas by Brahms have always enjoyed their place among the standards of the genre, and although frequently heard in many locations, rarely so, in the one place  where Brahms spent much of his time, and certainly not at all on the instrument he himself played there.

But, it is precisely this which gives this recording its especially interesting feature as this recording was made using Brahms’s original grand piano in a location crucial to the composer’s work and this gives the listener a unique and incomparable audio experience.
