Thea Musgrave: Turbulent Landscapes – Glennie, Daniel, Milne, BBC SO, BBC Scottish SO, Vänskä, Belohlavek

A rich, striking musical language and a strong sense of drama have made Thea Musgrave one of the most respected of living composers. This disc brings together three powerful performances recorded live at the BBC Proms: the dramatic Turbulent Landscapes, inspired by Turner’s seascapes; Songs for a Winter’s Evening, setting Robert Burns’s poems of a young woman’s life and loves, with Lisa Milne as soloist; and the double concerto Two’s Company, composed for the percussionist Evelyn Glennie and oboist Nicholas Daniel.

The recording is produced in association with BBC Radio 3.
