Francesco Meli is acclaimed for his mellifluous tenor in the French and Italian bel canto repertoire celebrated on this recital album with songs and arias from Rossini to Massenet. Complementing these are song cycles by Liszt and Britten setting poems by two great figures of the Italian Renaissance, Michelangelo and Petrarch.

"... Meli’s voice is a true example of the Italian lyric-operatic style as you’ll find - beautifully produced, ardent but by no means hectoring, and with attractive soft-colour options to balance up the firepower... He [Meli] is superbly supported here by Matteo Pais, a fine accompanist throughout."
Malcolm Hayes - BBC Music magazine - March 2014
"...sweetly lyrical and sensitive ..."
"...one can feel the passion literally bristling beneath the surface in both expression and control ... a lyric tenor possessed of tremendous reserve power ..."
