Mozart’s four famous horn concertos as well as some highly interesting Mozart rarities for horn are presented here on one album. Johannes Hinterholzer studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg and has appeared with numerous major symphony and chamber orchestras. He has performed as a guest in the solo horn position with the Berlin Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, SWR Stuttgart, Munich Chamber Orchestra etc. One of his specialties is the historic natural horn. On this album as well, he plays some smaller works on this valveless instrument. Johannes Hinterholzer also uses his own cadenzas in the concertos. Not only are these entirely stylistic, they also demonstrate the horn player’s personality and verve.
