 Singphoniker, Die Ensemble

“…just songs!” is the title of the Singphoniker’s newest concept album. At first glance, this combination of tunes ranging from renaissance madrigals all the way to jazz, rock and pop may surprise. But at an amazed second glance, this top German vocal ensemble presents an enticing, brilliant and completely conclusive musical still-life. The always rich alternation among the various musical spheres unfolds a very special pull: from the first to the last of the 23 specially chosen songs. Listening impression: Opulent live acoustics, 100% unplugged, an attractively spatial sound as well as a production without any electronic ’cheats’. A feast for the ears – not only for vocal music fans!

"Here is a 30th anniversary celebration of the German male vocal quintet, Die Singphoniker. The program takes in a lot of territory to say the least: ... Even though they’re having a ball, the singing stays breezy and tasteful, which suits the breezy and tasteful arrangements. (Their ’Fly Me to the Moon’ is irresistible)... this one’s a keeper."
