This is PROPHONE RECORDS third album with the jazz singer JOHANNA GRÜSSNER from the Åland Islands. She has procuded this album together with the guitarist Ulf Karlsson.
 
COME RAIN OR COME SHINE contains latin jazz favourites by Jobim och Piazzolla and some swing tunes as well. Johanna is joined by Swedish top musicians such as Fredrik Jonsson (bass), André Ferrari (drums), Klas Lindqvist (alto saxophone and clarinet), Fredrik Gille (percussion) and Ulf Johansson Werre (piano). Guest soloists are Tore Berglund (tenor saxophone) and 
Hector Bingert (quena).
 
Johanna Grüssner studied jazz at the Berklee College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music. On her first CD on Prophone, No More Blues (PCD 073), she was joined by New York musicians such as the Pat Metheny drummer Antonio Sanchez. The second album, Lazy Afternoon (PCD 087), was recorded in New Orleans by the Thad Jones procuder John Snyder. 
 
Johanna has also worked as a music teacher at an elementary school in Bronx. The New York Times journalist Anemona Hartocollis has written a touching book about Johanna’s time as a music teacher.
