War & Peace: Music for Remembrance – Choir Of Jesus College, Cambridge, Mark Williams

As the centenary of the start of The Great War approaches, the Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge presents a beautiful and moving collection of choral works united in various ways by the experiences and impact of war.

BBC Music offered praise for the previous release of the Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge, Journey into Light: ‘It’s a performance of full, rich sounds from a group who are among the unsung heroes of a collegiate choir circuit currently dominated by the larger colleges.’

"... These fine performances make an interestingly broad anthology, culminating in Vaughan Williams’s Lord, thou has been our refuge, with a good solo quartet."  *** (Good)

Patric Standford - Choir & Organ magazine - March/April 2014

"The Jesus singers give a glowing account in this rewarding programme. Supple, sensitive direction by Mark Williams"  ****

Terry Blain - BBC Music magazine (Brief Notes section) - February 2014
