Reminiscences

1:06

Charles Owen, Piano. The disc includes Janácek’s most substantial work for piano - On an overgrown path, two sets of miniatures. Here as elsewhere, Janácek captures the imagination with these astonishingly vivid and touching vignettes recalling his childhood in Moravia.

"Studying and playing these absorbing pieces has been an engrossing and enriching experience. It may not be music which reveals all its secrets to the listener at once, but one which yealds more and more rewards on closer acquaintance."
Charles Owen

"Charles Owen is out of the best school of British pianism - bright, sensitive, unaffected and with playing informed by brainwork".
