The Twenty-Seven choruses were premiered in Budapest in 1937; after the concert Bartók said "I can never forget my impression of how fresh, how joyful the youngsters sounded." On this CD the Choruses are sung by Pécs University Choir, one of Hungary’s leading choirs.
