Philip Cobb is undoubtedly one of the finest trumpet players of his generation and as Principal Trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra, in succession to Maurice Murphy, continues an outstanding heritage. Some of the music on this album, Philip’s second solo disc, is completely new, some has been written especially for him while others are well-known favourites. Despite the diversity, each piece has an association or special meaning for him. Combine that with his essentially lyrical performances and you have Songs from the Heart.

"...I found this album to have something for every taste and to be a compelling listen. Philip Cobb has learned his trade well from some of the finest teachers including that which comes from the legendary Cobb dynasty.  The disc comes thoroughly recommended!"

John Maines - The Brass Herald - May 2013
