 Lukas Vondracek Soloist

Lukáš Vondrácek, winner of several international piano competitions, is already a veteran pianist, despite being only in his mid-twenties. Discovered and championed by Ashkenazy when Lukáš was 14 years old, Lukáš has slowly and deliberately carved out a major international career for himself. He has appeared in some of the most prestigious venues in the world (Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall amongst many) and has appeared with such prominent orchestras as the BBC Philharmonic, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Wiener Symphoniker, Zurich TonHalle Orchester and the Sydney Symphony.

TwoPianists Records is delighted to introduce Lukáš in his first major solo album that features the Haydn C major Sonata (Hob. XVI:50), Rachmaninoff Corelli Variations and the Prokofiev Sonata no.7. Admittedly, these are standard repertoire, but the playing is absolutely unique. What appealed to us about his playing is Lukáš’ immense musical personality – untamed, fresh, individual and above all, effortless. In an industry filled with talent, Lukáš Vondrácek is most certainly a name to watch!

"... a solid pianist with a strong streak of invention ... this well-engineered discs has its own records, and can be reccommended especially warmly as an intruduction to a pianist from whom I expect to hear a lot."
