Three world premiere recordings highlight this album of chamber music by the distinguished American composer Jennifer Higdon. Ms. Higdon served as Eminent Artist-in-Residence at the University of Wyoming and this composer-supervised recording was the culmination of her activities there. Ms. Higdon comments that when composing “I often picture colors as if I were spreading them on a canvas, except I do so with melodies, harmonies, and through the instruments themselves.” All of the performers serve on the music department faculty at the University of Wyoming.

“…you can never have too much Higdon. These are all fine pieces, very much worth your time, and very well performed. Ms. Higdon is one of our best composers, and if you don’t know her music, I hope you will remedy that.”

American Record Guide

"By now, Jennifer Higdon is rightfully and widely known as one of America’s greatest living composers. Her music is tonal, very rewarding to play and to listen to and shows great emotional range. …Highly recommended."
