Widely recognised as one of Britain 's finest orchestras, the BBC Philharmonic has built a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality and committed performances over an immensely wide-ranging repertoire. Chandos has an exclusive recording contract with the orchestra and over the last decade it has become one of the world's most recorded orchestras, with over 200 CDs to its credit. Gianandrea Noseda has been Principal Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic since September 2002. During that time, Gianandrea and the BBC Orchestra has forged a thriving relationship which has culminated in a contract extension until 2010 and the new title of Chief Conductor. Noseda has made many critically acclaimed recordings for Chandos with diverse repertoire by Respighi, Prokofiev, Karlowicz, Dallapiccola, Dvorak, Schubert, Liszt and Shostakovich. |
