The Egon label began life as an offshoot to the printing and publishing company, Egon Publishers Ltd. The label had its own brass band, Egon Virtuosi Brass, a composite group of mainly Salvationist bandsman, who were initially brought together to record neglected Salvation Army repertoire. Following a change of business direction, the Egon label was acquired by Salvationist Publishing & Supplies who have developed and grown the label to its current position. Recordings on the Egon label are produced by the well-respected and trusted Brian Hillson and artists appearing on the label include Foden's Band, Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Stavanger Brass Band, Bones Apart, Philip Cobb and Bramwell Tovey. |
