The Aquarelle Guitar Quartet was formed at the Royal Northern College of Music under the guidance of Craig Ogden and Gordon Crosskey. Hailed as the ‘Next big thing’, the Quartet has earned a reputation as a dynamic and innovative ensemble, captivating audiences with eclectic repertoire and spell-binding performances. Since its formation it has performed extensively across the UK and abroad to critical acclaim. It is responsible for the re-emergence of two great concertos for four guitars, Rodrigo’s ConciertoAndaluz and Moreno Torroba’s ConciertoIbérico, and performs these regularly with orchestras throughout Britain. As the recipient of numerous awards, the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet has been able to learn from some of the most respected guitarists alive today, including Sérgio Assad, Oscar Ghiglia and Scott Tennant. It has been given works to perform by internationally renowned composers such as Carlos Rafael Rivera (USA), Phillip Houghton (Australia) and Stephen Dodgson (UK) and the group is constantly expanding its repertoire, through commissions and with its own arrangements from various musical genres. www.aquarellegq.com
