Since becoming the youngest ever BBC Young Musician of the Year in May 2008, the trombonist Peter Moore has been in demand as a soloist, performing concertos and giving recitals across the country. He played a specially arranged solo by Michael Nyman at the Cadogan Hall, London, accompanied at the piano by the composer. He also featured in the London Olympic Handover Concert and the Proms in the Park from Belfast. In October 2008 he made his much acclaimed Wigmore Hall debut and returned to the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to perform Henri Tomasi’s Concerto. He has appeared in recital at the Conway Hall, London, St George’s, Bristol, Leeds College of Music, and the Guildhall, Guildford, in addition to performing at many societies and music festivals, including the Newbury International Festival. He featured as a soloist in two concerts at the European trombone festival ‘The Slide Factory’ in March 2009, took part in a special performance before members of the Royal family at Buckingham Palace in April, and performed an unaccompanied cello suite by Bach on his trombone at the Manchester Festival in July. In July and August 2009 he undertook a five-week tour of Australia. He has recently performed the concertos by Ferdinand David and Gordon Jacob in Maidstone, Brighton, and Tunbridge Wells, and appeared at the Rheingau Musik Festival at Schloss Johannisberg.
