The founding of Phil.harmonie was inspired by musicians from the Berliner Philharmoniker who were looking for a new label to release their chamber music recordings. Phil.harmonie’s catalogue includes Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale recorded by Kolja Blacher and Dominique Horwitz; and recordings of the music of Georg Abraham Schneider – a forgotten court composer from Berlin – revitalising an important chapter of the city’s cultural history.
